Propane air mixers are compatible with many types of burners and do not require double male joints for this type of burner pot assembly. You can remove it by hand, but be sure to use a towel or gloves because the stitches are sharp.

If the fitting is too tight to remove by hand, hold it with a pair of pliers (don't worry about damaging the thread, you will discard this part of the air mixer valve).
Note: Propane needs air mixed with gas to burn properly. Air mixers use the Venturi effect to draw in air and mix it with propane gas. Without this air in the mix, the propane will not burn completely, leaving soot on the fireproof glass. Connect the air mixer to the burner pan Wrap the external thread at the bottom of the burner pan with duct tape and attach the propane air mixer to the pan with screws. Make sure the air intakes on both sides of the air mixer are facing the pan.
Caution! Installing gas appliances can be dangerous. All gas connections shall be made by professional licensed gas installers.
