Flame induction ignition systems, these safety systems have different names depending on the manufacturer. Essentially, it's a fail-safe system that cuts off the gas supply if the pit flame goes out. Automatic flame sensors or "thermocouples" located in the ignition system detect the presence of flame and close the gas line when the flame is extinguished.

Product Introduction
The system is battery-powered and the fire pit is lit by a control panel and a push of a button.
These fire pit kits are fully assembled and ready for installation. All connections from the control panel to the fire pit tray are made at the factory.
Electronic ignition system
Electronic ignition systems work much like flame sensing systems. The pit flame is continuously monitored and automatically turns off the gas supply in the unlikely event that the flame goes out.
Similar to the flame sensing kit, monitoring is carried out by thermocouple.
They differ, however, in that before the system shuts off the gas, it makes several attempts to reignite the fire pit, and if the flame fails to reignite, it eventually turns off the gas supply.
Electronic systems also have many different operational options. Fire Pit lights just flick a switch anywhere and you can get an electronic feed.
