Fire Pit Log Burner
Natural gas pits are fueled by natural gas or liquid propane. The choice of gas does not affect the burner itself. Instead, the difference is the delivery system that connects the fuel source (a natural gas line or propane tank) to the burner. Propane burns hotter than natural gas, so a natural gas pit supplies more fuel to the burner, producing the same flame as a propane pit.

Product Introduction
When purchasing a burner, make sure it fits the fuel of your choice, or purchase an adapter kit to convert to that fuel. Many burners come in propane or natural gas models or include an adapter kit.
Plate or pot
The type of fuel also affects another element of the fire pit: the burner plate or pan. This is a flat metal disk that sits underneath the burner. The outer edge of the pan is raised, while the plate is naturally flat. For our purposes, we will use these terms interchangeably.
Natural gas fire pits generally do not require pans, but most propane fire pits do. Some burners sell POTS that come with them.

Standard Burner Ports - Drilled, not punched, burner ports are standard on the tube for a broader, more complete flame.
