Because there are multiple electronic components in this kit and its control panel, exposing the control panel to the components is not recommended. The control panel still requires easy battery replacement and any maintenance. We recommend incorporating a door to the side of your fire function to protect the control panel from elements while remaining easily accessible. The control panel features an mountable infrared sensor that can be exposed to elements. The sensor is connected to the control panel with 5 ft of wire to allow the control panel to be hidden while the sensor is exposed.
