I love natural wood-burning fires, but the older I get, the less I like work with wood-burning fires. Our wood-burning fireplace is well-ventilated, not so well, which kind of defeats the whole purpose. I'd have a big fire at Christmas because everyone wanted one, and then the room would be filled with smoke and the house would smell the next day. It just doesn't work.
