12 Volt Pellet Stove

What is a particle? Pellet fuels are becoming increasingly important around the world as a renewable, clean-burning and cost-stable home heating option. It's a renewable biomass product -- usually waste wood. Millions of people in Europe and the United States use wood pellets for heat in free-standing stoves, fireplaces, furnaces and boilers. Pellets can be used in industrial applications and power generation as an alternative or supplement to coal in cogeneration projects. It is also possible to use wood pellet fuel for heating in large places such as schools and prisons. Pellets are made all over the world and are actively traded across borders. In short, pellet fuels are a way to turn millions of waste products into energy. Fuelwood, wood pellets, wood chips, waste paper and many other agricultural and sideline products can be used for energy production and are all biomass fuels. The most striking thing about biomass is its renewability. Particulate fuels have significant consistency and fuel efficiency resulting in a small fraction of particulate emissions. Particle burners are equipped with all solid fuel burners for the lowest particulate emissions. With proper agricultural management, biomass is virtually limitless and has proven to be more stable in price than fossil fuels.

Product Introduction

Sweden, Europe

The use of biomass pellets for energy production dates back to the 1970s, when alternatives to fossil fuels were sought after the energy crisis. By this time, the techniques used to produce animal feed pellets had been improved to fit denser wood materials. Sweden is one of the pioneers in this industry because of its prominent timber industry, desire for increased energy independence, and commitment to environmental conservation.

Swedish wood pellet production was initiated in the late 1970s with the decision to build a pellet plant in Mula. The plant began production in November 1982, but soon ran into problems because costs were much higher than budgeted. The equipment is to change the oil-fired boiler to the pellet fuel boiler. But the efficiency is low, and not just because the particles are of poor quality. In the first year, the raw material was mainly bark. Particulate ash content is usually 2.5-17%. The Mura factory closed in 1986.

A pellet factory was built in Vargarda in 1984 and closed in 1989. The last owner of the plant was Volvo Group. In 1987, the first dry material pelletizing plant was built in Kil, which was designed to have an annual capacity of 3,000 tons. The plant is still in operation and is the oldest commercial chemical plant in Sweden.

In the early 1990s, the Swedish government came up with a proposal to tax fossil fuels. It also limits carbon dioxide emissions. In the short term, burning fossil fuels becomes unprofitable, and biofuels move in to fill the energy gap. This was a turning point, marking the beginning of a rapid increase in the use of wood pellets.

Similar clean energy initiatives are popping up elsewhere in Europe. As a result, Europe has become a leader in the consumption of biomass pellets. Pellets can be delivered by truck and stored directly in a residential storage area, similar to the way gasoline is fed into a gas station. In addition to residential heating, an increasing number of European power plants are using biomass particles to generate electricity, among other industrial applications
